Project SeaCycle

Project SeaCycle is SeaSweepers' groundbreaking initiative that transforms how the world views marine plastics. From Miami to the Bahamas, we've recovered 4,000 pounds of so-called “unrecyclable” plastic, and proved that these materials can be cleaned, processed, and repurposed into sustainable, everyday products.
At the heart of Project SeaCycle is a mission-driven journey: from collection and cleaning, to recycling and reinvention. It’s not just a project, it’s a proof of concept, a call to action, and a movement toward a circular, transparent future. And we need you to be a part of it.
This is your opportunity to drive real change. Join us by becoming a sponsor or donating today to help build the first US-based marine plastics recycling center and advance re:Trace™, our AI-powered transparency platform.

SeaCycle Collect

The Collect phase of Project SeaCycle marks the starting point of transformation. In collaboration with leading marine conservation partners like OceanAid360, we’ve removed 4,000 pounds of marine debris from key hotspots across Miami, the Florida Keys, and the Bahamas. These plastics, once considered beyond saving, are now entering a new circular journey.
Each recovery operation is more than a cleanup, it’s a strategic intervention that fuels a transparent, traceable supply chain. Together with nonprofits, governments, and local communities, we’re intercepting waste before it harms marine ecosystems or disappears into landfills.
Now, we're building a coalition to expand our impact. Become a SeaSweepers Partner and join a growing network of changemakers committed to redefining how marine plastics are recovered, reused, and respected.

SeaCycle Clean

(Current Phase)
On Saturday, May 10th, ocean lovers and environmental advocates gathered at Kenneth M. Myers Bayside Park in Coconut Grove for SeaSweepers' inaugural SeaCycle Clean event. More than a typical beach cleanup, this first-of-its-kind experience aimed to tackle marine plastic pollution by transforming collected debris into new, sustainable products.
Attendees participated in a hands-on afternoon that went beyond simply collecting trash. They had the opportunity to clean plastic from beach cleanups, preventing it from ending up in landfills and giving it new life. The event highlighted how technology can revolutionize the ocean plastic journey, with participants learning about the processes involved in cleaning, scanning, tracing, and transforming ocean debris.
A competitive spirit filled the air as individuals grabbed gloves and competed in plastic-sorting races and other contests for prizes. Beyond the action, the event fostered a strong sense of community, with attendees enjoying food, inspiring speakers, and a shared purpose. The family and pet-friendly atmosphere made it an enjoyable outing for all ages, with gloves and bags provided for participants.

The SeaCycle Clean event showcased how over 4,000 pounds of ghost traps, ropes, and ocean debris, collected from local oceans in Miami, Key Biscayne, and The Bahamas, can be diverted from landfills and given a second life as items like building materials, furniture, playgrounds, and park benches. This initiative directly addressed one of ocean plastics' most persistent challenges: finding sustainable solutions for collected waste.
In late 2025, we’ll unveil 25 park benches - crafted entirely from our SeaCycle plastics - permanently installed and dedicated to the City of Miami. These will serve as a lasting symbol of what’s possible in circular sustainability. And we’re inviting forward-thinking sponsors to help bring this vision to life.
SeaCycle sponsor partners will receive:
-
Brand visibility across our platforms and media
-
Press exposure tied to the unveiling and city dedication
-
Recognition on-stage alongside local leaders
-
A sponsorship plaque on your bench made from recovered ocean plastic
-
Co-branding with nonprofits, civic leaders, and community partners

SeaCycle Transport

The next phase of Project SeaCycle is on the horizon. In Transport, we’ll move cleaned marine plastics to processing facilities, laying the groundwork for their transformation into sustainable products. Stay tuned!

SeaCycle Process

The Process phase will bring cleaned marine plastics to life, converting waste into high-quality, recyclable material. As we prototype innovative recycling methods, we’ll demonstrate that ocean plastics can meet industry standards and fuel sustainable production. More updates coming soon.

SeaCycle Transform

The Transform phase is where purpose becomes product. Using plastic recovered and cleaned through Project SeaCycle, SeaSweepers is converting ocean waste into durable, beautifully designed park benches, tangible symbols of circularity and community care.
These benches won’t just be placed, they’ll be donated to the City of Miami, installed in public parks and campuses as monuments to sustainability. Each one reduces landfill waste, cuts carbon, and tells a story of transformation.
You can make this impact personal. Sponsor a SeaSweepers bench and have your name, or your organization’s, recognized at a public unveiling with the Mayor of Miami. It’s more than a donation; it’s a legacy.
Be part of a movement that turns marine debris into civic pride. Sponsor a bench. Shape the future.

SeaCycle Share

Share is the heartbeat of SeaSweepers, where impact becomes influence, and local action inspires global change. As we clean, recycle, and transform marine plastics, we’re also building a community that believes in a future with #NoNewPlastic.
This phase isn’t bound by geography or time, it’s an open invitation to amplify our mission, tell powerful stories of transformation, and invite others into the movement. Whether it’s through social media, events, school programs, or civic collaborations, Share empowers advocates, educators, and changemakers to spread the word and deepen the impact.
We’re not just creating recycled benches, we’re creating momentum. And we need your voice.
Join us in sharing the vision. Tag, post, talk, organize. Help us build a culture of circularity and stewardship, one community at a time. Because together, we don’t just clean the ocean, we change the future.
